Snow Day

The alarm went off and I groaned and rolled over while trying to open my heavy eyelids. As I rolled towards the wall, I realized that it was still very dark in my room and I opened my eyes further to see why. I glanced towards the window and noticed the gray, wet day outside. I groaned, thinking of walking to the bus stop in this yucky stuff and what it would do to my hair! I got up to look out the window and noticed that it was snowing heavily. It was that heavy wet snow that was half slush, half snow. Just then, a snow plow went by lighting up the dusk with its yellow flashing lights. Just then, I heard the phone ring and my heart sang! Snow day, please, please, please? I sang to myself. Downstairs I heard my mom's voice say, "Hello? Oh hi Ralph, really? Okay, I guess I can clean my house today, then!"
"Yes," I shouted! "No School mom?"
" Nope," she sang up the stairs. Sleep, read, watch t.v.? Hmmmmm, who cares, no school!"
